SCHOOL AGED RECREATION PROGRAMMES
Our gymnastic developmental and recreation programmes build on balance, strength, flexibility, and coordination. Our competitive recreation programmes develop the stylised skills of the respective codes specific to Artistic, Rhythmic, Trampoline, and Tumbling for low key competition.
PARKOUR - 90 min session (7+ YRS)-Cancelled
Parkour requires large motor skills, strength, balance, coordination, and acute spatial awareness. This class is structured in a fun and safe way to build the physical and mental attributes to introduce the skills of Parkour.
OPEN GYM (ALL AGES)
90 minutes of open play session for all ages. Children under 13 years must be accompanied by an adult.
Friday - 10am to 11.30am.
Cost: $14 per child or $115 for a 10-session card

GYMFUN - 60 min session (5-6YRS)
A fun and engaging programme for younger school-aged children. The class is based on the nationally recognised Kiwi GymFun programme. It is structured to develop gymnastic skills through the movement pattern approach. Children will start to learn basic movement sequences (routines) towards an assessment and award (badge) process at the end of the year.
GYMFUN PLUS - 60 min session (7+ YRS)
This class is also based on the Kiwi GymFun programme, aimed at the older school-aged children. It is at the higher levels of the programme requiring more gymnastic skills and movement sequences. Fun and safety is first and foremost in all GymFun classes consistent with our suite of developmental programmes.
ARTISTIC RECREATION - 90 min session (6+ YRS)
This class trains towards building confidence to develop skills, strength, and flexibility for proficiency in gymnastic skills and sequences (routines) on Artistic Gymnastics apparatus. Sessions are 90 minutes and are separate for boys and girls. There is an expectation to participate in gymnastics competitions at a recreation level.
RHYTHMIC RECREATION – 60 min session (5+YRS)
Rhythmic Gymnastics is a combination of gymnastic skills and dance while handling hand apparatus – rope, ribbon, ball, hoop, and clubs. This class develops the foundations of Rhythmic Gymnastics - strength, flexibility, form, body positions, and handling skills. Children learn rhythmical movement patterns and sequences, with the use of music to develop performance skills. For those who are experienced in gymnastics or dance, extended session duration is an option. Socks must be worn for this class. There is an expectation to participate in Rhythmic gymnastics competitions at a recreational level.
TRAMPOLINE RECREATION – 60 min session (7+YRS)
This class is designed to focus on skill development, fitness, and coordination on the Trampoline. Activities are fun and are structured in a controlled environment. Class sizes are limited to ensure safety and apparatus time. Socks must be worn for this class. There is an expectation to participate in trampoline competitions at a recreation level.
TUMBLING RECREATION – 60 min session (7+YRS)
This class is a great way to safely learn to roll, tumble, and twist. It focuses on developing strength, coordination, spatial and body awareness, required for tumbling. From forward rolls to walkovers and handsprings, coaches will help to master the basics, build on, or retain existing skills. Outside of the gymnastic environment, tumbling is also part of Dance and Cheerleading. There is an expectation to participate in tumbling competitions at a recreational level.
Gymnastics programmes operate during the Primary and Intermediate School terms. Registrations open prior to the start of each term. To ensure quality and safety, class numbers are limited and places are on a ‘first come first serve’ basis. Be sure to enrol early to secure a place.
