About Papakura Cricket Club
The Papakura Cricket Club was formed in 1959, and has the aim of providing cricket to all ages and skill levels of our community.
At Junior level, we have teams ranging throughout all grades in the local Counties-Manukau competition. All junior cricket takes place on Saturday mornings, with the emphasis being placed on getting boys and girls involved and challenged. Skills learnt include team work, communication, taking responsibility, and fair play – as well as all the cricketing basics and techniques.
At Senior level, we cater for both the serious and the social cricketer on Saturday afternoons. The more serious cricketer can aim to play Premier level cricket and challenge for Representative honours, while the more social cricketer can still play in a challenging grade but at a level that is more suited to them.
The Club is very lucky to have great facilities at Bruce Pulman Park – two fantastic grass block ovals, four artificial grass wickets, and the best outdoor cricket nets in the District. We have a determined and enthusiastic committee, and have formed links with a number of local schools.
