Bruce Pulman Park welcomes back Tas Evans

Bruce Pulman Park is delighted to welcome Tas Evans to the Recreation Centre Team, Tas will take on the role of Recreation Programmes Manager where she will be working with our coaching team on supporting them in their development pathways as coaches.

It is full circle for Tas as she began her gymnastics coaching career in the earlier ’80s with Counties Manukau Gymnastics where she worked for over 25 years developing programmes for babies, pre-schoolers, people with disabilities and schools.  She also spent time coaching the coaches and managing teams.

Since then Tas has moved into roles at Gymnastics New Zealand where she worked as part of the Coach Education team, she has also held National roles as both the National Development Manager and Gym For All Education Manager.

In 2015 Tas was seconded to the Federation Internationale Gymnastics (FIG) Oceania Development Programme for four years.  This was in collaboration with Gymnastics Australia.  The project was to develop gymnastics in the Pacific Island nations and form the Oceania Gymnastics Union.  She is now leading the Oceania Gymnastics Union’s Education and Development Committee, with a mandate from 2020-2023.

We are incredibly lucky to have persuaded Tas to come back and support our young coaching team to be able to deliver a quality gymnastics programme.
